From her Umlazi origins, Sinegugu Wanda—more lovingly called Chef Gugu around here—has let her love of cooking carry her to heights she never would have imagined.
Chef Gugu is an expert in Fusion cuisine, a technical cooking style combining South Africa and Italy’s disparate culinary customs and methods to create the flavors and tastes of the Wish Under the Stars Summer Menu.
This young girl, who learned to cook from her Gogo so that she could transmit her culinary skills to her career-focused mother, thinks that a chef’s longevity in this field is mainly determined by their love and ability to stay inventive.
They will be in for a real treat this summer with Chef Gugu in charge. Every dish served at Wish will have distinct aromas and tastes, but this young chef will also generously provide nutrition for the soul and genuine affection.
